Last year, facing tons of pressure for the public, consumers, and the media, Wal-Mart announced it was overhauling its health care plan. It was a crass PR move (followed by more PR moves) in order to silence critics, and it did little to help its employees stay healthy.
A new study by Policy Matters Ohio shows that Wal-Mart's Health Care PR stunt was, well, a PR stunt. It has made no demonstrable difference in the number of their employees enrolled in state medicare, despite what their press releases say. Indeed, Wal-Mart is responsible for more workers on state Medicare than any other company. It is a true shame that Wal-Mart refuses to live up to its responsibility of providing affordable and decent health care to its employees. Instead Wal-Mart forces its workers to rely on the government, and you, the tax payer, foot the bill for them.

I work at Wallmart part time. I am a retired Teamster who worked in public service for 20 years. I know the beneifits of a collective bargaining agreement and a grievance process. I secretly put out pro-union UFCW leaflets while at work. It is hillarious to watch the bosses rip their hair out trying to find out who is letting the cat out of the bag. Employees at Wallmarts all over America are ready to organize so Wallmart had better get used to the idea.

1. I have actually work for three other public traded company outside of retail and WMT's health plan in 207/2008 are comparable. Fact.
2. If your experience doesn't warrant you a good paying job in the land of the free, then may I suggest you to go back to school? It is not the government nor your employer's responsibility. The fact is you have got a brain, two hands, two legs, eyes and hears... Figure something out.
3. Union - Do you know how many people lose their jobs with the help of union? Just look at the Big Three or Airlines. Unions negotiatd great deals for these auto workers for years. But what they forgot is that they should be focusing on productivity which results in more pay, vs. just on pay. Sure, Ford can pay $100/hr to assemble a Taurus in 90 hours with the help of union, but Japanese can do it 50 hours while paying more than Ford on a hourly basis, what do you think will happen to these union jobs?
Want to more evidence of Union contributon --> just look at Airline pilots, Auto Union Workers, Rail Road industry's future.... This is also FACT
