Walmart's Manufacturers

We just told you about Stork Craft, a manufacturing company which has had two major recalls on their cribs recently. They manufacture cribs for brands like Fisher-Price and sell their products at stores like Walmart. We did a little digging around and found Stork Craft's website. Here's a screen shot of their webpage. Keep in mind that this is not a subpage, this is their home page, and it is the only page:

Noname.png

Doesn't it seem odd that Stork Craft's ENTIRE web page is dedicated to recalled items? Is there nothing else this company thinks its customers might want to know?

And given that the only public information this company feels you need to know is how many recalls they have, shouldn't Walmart think twice before buying products from them?

Nice try again but the fact is that this latest recall covers 1.2 million cribs dating back to 1993 and sold by every major retailer as well as smaller specialty stores.
To answer your question, this massive recall just happened. Maybe Walmart will assess their relationship with this company now. Time will tell, give it time. Your statement seems to infer that Walmart knowingly purchased and sold defective merchandise. That is just not true of Walmart or any of the many other retailers who sold these cribs.

I have to ask, what would union controlled Walmart have done to make this situation different or better ? Costco has a union. Have a look at Costco's reacall page. They sold the same cribs it looks like as well as quite a number of other products that have been recalled. Why not criticize them and question their buying polocies as well?

You "did a little digging around"? Most of us would call that "googling." You googled Stork Craft. That seems to be the extent the investigative journalism happening here.

Perhaps they didn't feel the need to have a website until they started recalling products. Therefore, the recall is the basis of their website. I don't really see how the lack of content on their website even matters.

Here is an e-mail I got from a friend:

A SCAM BEING CARRIED ON BY STORE CLERKS
It happened at Wal-Mart a month ago. I bought a bunch of stuff, over $150, & I glanced at my receipt as the cashier was handing me the bags. I saw a cash-back of $40. I told her I didn't request a cash back & to delete it. She said I'd have to take the $40 because she couldn't delete it. I told her to call a supervisor.
Supervisor came & said I'd have to take it. I said NO! Taking the $40 would be a cash advance against my Discover & I wasn't paying interest on a cash advance!!!!! If they couldn't delete it then they would have to delete the whole order. So the supervisor had the cashier delete the whole order & re-scan everything! The second time I looked at the electronic pad before I signed & a cash-back of $20 popped up. At that point I told the cashier & she deleted it. The total came out right. The cashier agreed that the electronic pad must be defective. Obviously the cashier knew the electronic pad was defective because she NEVER offered me the $40 at the beginning. Can you imagine how many people went through before me & at the end of her shift how much money she pocketed?

Just to alert everyone. My co worker went to Wal-Mart last week. She had her items rung up by the cashier. The cashier hurried her along and didn't give her a receipt. She asked the cashier for a receipt and the cashier was annoyed and gave it to her. My co worker didn't look at her receipt until later that night. The receipt showed that she asked for $20 cash back. SHE DID NOT ASK FOR CASH BACK! My co-worker called Wal-Mart who investigated but could not see the cashier pocket the money. She then called her niece who works for the bank and her niece told her this. This is a new scam going on. The cashier will key in that you asked for cash back and then hand it to her friend who is the next person in line.

Please, please, please check your receipts right away when using credit or debit cards!
This is NOT limited to Wal-Mart, although they are the largest retailer so they have the most incidents

I am adding to this. My husband and I were in Wal-Mart and paying with credit card when my husband went to sign the credit card signer he just happen to notice there was a $20 cash back added. He told the cashier that he did not ask nor want cash back and she said this machine has been messing up and she cancelled it. We really didn't think anything of it until we read this email.

No cashier can magically add cash back to a card w/o the CUSTOMER hitting the button themselves. Another fake post/lie. Anything else?

Buy Accutane Online
Isotretinoin, best known by the brand name accutane, has typically been a drug of last resort, used by those with severe acne. Because the drug can cause serious birth defects when taken during pregnancy, the Food and Drug Administration has required that girls and women who use accutane join a registry and undergo monthly pregnancy tests while on the medication.

This past June, however, accutane was pulled from the market amid concerns that it might also be linked to a higher risk of inflammatory bowel disease. Generic versions are still available.
